Holding a Meeting on Health Impact Assessment (HIA) of the 6000-Ton Waste Incineration Project in Tehran
The Health Impact Assessment (HIA) Report (Health Annex) for the 6,000-ton waste incineration project in Tehran was conducted by the Institute for Environmental Research.
According to the Public Relations Office of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, the Institute for Environmental Research, the Health Impact Assessment report of the 6000-ton Waste-to-Energy Plant project in Tehran was evaluated on November 13, 2024. This evaluation was conducted by the National Health Impact Assessment Secretariat of the Ministry of Health and the Institute for Environmental Research of Tehran University of Medical Sciences.
It is worth mentioning that the Tehran Municipality has proposed a 6000-ton Waste-to-Energy Plant project with an investment of approximately 600 million dollars to manage the city’s waste. According to the permanent laws of the country's five-year development programs, all waste-to-energy plants, regardless of their scale, are required to provide a Health Impact Assessment report.
